The Butchery is a dream come true for me (Bert-Jan Lantinga). A butcher shop where the sky is the limit. Featuring the finest breeds and a 100% Animal Welfare Guarantee. We also offer ready-made meals, lovingly prepared by our butchers. The Butchery goes beyond where your local butcher stops. Beef breeds like Black Angus USA, Hereford Argentina, Rubia Gallega, Aberdeen Angus Uruguay, Simmentaler, and even Wagyu. Pork breeds like LIVAR, Iberico, Mangalitza, and Veluws Landvarken. Superior chicken like Label Rouge and, of course, free-range Polderhoen. Enthusiasts can find it all online. And I absolutely love that! The Butchery is the platform for BBQ lovers as well as conscientious meat eaters. Because if you prefer 'cheap' meat from the industrial sector, this is definitely not the place for you.
About Lantinga Butchery & Fresh Meat
By the way, that dream didn't happen overnight. It has grown gradually. I am already the 3rd generation of a traditional butcher family. I've covered quite a distance and always with pleasure. I founded the national franchise concept Meat & Meals, served as a board member of KNS (Royal Dutch Butchers Association), had the pleasure of undertaking many special catering jobs (including Sensation in New York, together with Ron Blaauw), and have been able to call myself Master Butcher for several years now. But my interest in food goes beyond meat. In 2013, I made an important decision. Due to the increasing demand for healthy and fresh food, I decided to bring together the best specialists from the region under one roof. Butchery Lantinga was 'promoted' to Lantinga Butchery & Fresh Meat, a store with a primary focus on meat, but where you can easily also find vegetables, bread, cheese, wine, delicacies, ready-made meals, and more… A one-stop shop for foodies with the central theme 'Taste the Origin'… Fresh ready-made meals have become a very important part of that. In early 2019, we were even named Best Butcher of the Netherlands. And we now ship those fresh meals quick-frozen throughout the Netherlands.
About ‘Taste the Origin’
Alright. Taste the Origin then. This theme is, of course, very much of the moment, but for us, it’s not new. For 70 years, we have been selecting our own meat from local farmers. We know where our meat comes from and can ensure that the animals have a fair origin. Only then can you guarantee the true taste of the past. Living healthily with respect for people and animals is perhaps more important than ever, but for us, this approach has always been decisive. Grandpa Lantinga recognized this well 70 years ago…
About the Future…
Of course, we know that online butchers already exist. And online supermarkets. And probably many more… But that didn’t stop us from following our plan. Because our offering with a 100% Animal Welfare Guarantee is quite unique. Moreover, you shop where you feel comfortable. Also online!
