Ordering

Step 1: Shopping Cart
Place your item(s) in your shopping cart. Step 2: Personal Details
Fill in your personal details (if you're already logged in, you can skip this step). In the next step, make sure to double-check your address. Step 3: Delivery
Choose what suits you best: home delivery (evening or daytime delivery) or pick-up. Click on the calendar icon to select your preferred delivery date. Step 4: Payment
Select your payment method at checkout. We’ll only show you the payment options relevant to you. Do you have a gift card or discount code? You can redeem it here. Paying with iDeal? Don’t forget to click on ‘Complete Payment’ after making your payment. You can then view the confirmation of your order.
Have you selected a product and are you on the product page? Choose the quantity you want to order and, if applicable, the weight of the product. Then click the red button ‘Add to Cart’. Your product is now in your shopping cart. You can check this by clicking on the cart icon at the top right.
Products that are out of stock are not displayed on our webshop. Would you like to order the product from us soon? Please send us an email with the following information: The product you wish to order The weight you need The latest date by which you need the product We’ll do our best to have it in stock by then, or we’ll offer you an alternative.
Orders of €100 or more are delivered for free. This applies to all items. For orders under €100, we apply a tiered shipping cost: Orders up to €50: shipping costs €12.95 Orders between €50 and €100: shipping costs €8.95 Over €100: free shipping! Of course, you’re always welcome to pick up your order (of any size) free of charge at The Butchery. More details about this are provided below. Exception for Wallonia / Belgium Unfortunately, we cannot offer free shipping for orders to Wallonia (BE) due to the high shipping costs. The shipping cost outside of Flanders is €19.95 regardless of the order amount.
The Butchery does not have a minimum order amount.
If you place your order before 11:00 AM on weekdays, it will be delivered the same evening. Prefer daytime delivery? You can choose daytime delivery by placing your order before 3:00 PM on the day prior to delivery (Monday to Friday). On the day of delivery, you will receive a track & trace email to follow your package.
As long as your package hasn’t been packed and hasn’t left our warehouse, you can still add products to your order. Simply place a new order for the product you forgot and select the option for in-store pickup. Make sure to include a note stating that this is an addition to your previous order. Don’t forget to include your order number. Also, ensure that the pickup date for your new order matches the delivery date of your original order (for daytime delivery, select a pickup date one day prior to the delivery date). Finally, send an email to info@butchery.nl to let us know you’ve placed an additional order, so we can keep an eye on it.

On the delivery day, you will receive a track & trace email so you can track your package.
If your order hasn’t been shipped yet, you can cancel it. Send an email with your order number to info@butchery.nl, and we will cancel your order and refund the amount to the account you used for payment.
After every order, you will receive an order confirmation from us within a few minutes. Haven’t received it? Be sure to check your spam folder. If you still can’t find it, feel free to send us an email. Sometimes there may be a typo in the email address, or your email server might be experiencing an issue.

Returns

Returning Meat: Returning meat is generally not possible unless agreed upon with The Butchery. Please email info@butchery.nl with the reason for the return. Hardware or Dry Goods: You have the right to cancel the agreement within 14 days. The direct costs of returning the goods will be at your expense. Where can I send my return?

Delivery

Adjusting the delivery address for ongoing orders is partially possible. Check below for the options per situation: You chose daytime or weekend delivery, and your package has not yet been packed:

Unfortunately, we cannot update your address anymore, but Multi Vers might still be able to help. Contact Multi Vers directly at 085-0470841 (phone or WhatsApp). You chose evening delivery, and your package has not yet been packed:

You can update your delivery address via the track & trace you received. If you encounter an error, contact Trunkrs through the chat in your track & trace. They can best advise whether your address can still be updated.
The cardboard box your order is packed in can be recycled with paper waste. If you chose evening delivery, you'll also receive an insulation bag, which can be disposed of with plastic waste. Do you have some leftover dry ice? You can safely dispose of it in the sink, as it will evaporate on its own.
Due to environmental considerations, we have chosen not to include a packing slip with your order. This helps us save ink, energy, and paper for a large number of packing slips each year. Much more sustainable this way.
Was your order not delivered on time, or did the delivery driver fail to meet an arrangement? We deeply regret this and offer our apologies! We understand you may want to provide additional details. Please feel free to email us your delivery complaint, and we will forward it to the delivery service.
If the meat is slightly thawed, you can safely refreeze it. We freeze your meat when it’s very fresh, ensuring no loss of quality. This means our meat can be refrozen as long as it’s not completely thawed. If your order is fully thawed, we recommend contacting us via email.
We take great care in packaging our products and inspect each item before it leaves our warehouse. However, it can happen that a package doesn’t survive transport entirely intact due to products shifting inside the box. Don’t worry—the quality will not be affected. If you want to store it in the freezer, place the product in a freezer bag and remove as much air as possible before freezing. If you want to defrost it in the fridge, place it on a plate to prevent leakage in your refrigerator.
Fortunately, this rarely happens, but preparing orders is, of course, still human work. If your order is incomplete, please contact us via email, and we will work with you to find a suitable solution. Make sure to have your order number ready when you reach out to us.
The delivery drivers will always try to deliver to your neighbors to ensure you receive your order on time. However, it can occasionally happen that the order is not delivered on the desired delivery date. This might be because you were not home or because the driver’s route was significantly delayed due to an incident. We have clear agreements with the delivery services to ensure your order is stored in the freezer at their depot if delivery is not possible. Do you want to know exactly why your order was not delivered? Please contact Trunkrs (evening delivery) or LeenMenken (daytime delivery). They can provide you with more information about the status of your package. Still have trouble resolving the issue? Feel free to contact us, and we’ll gladly assist you further.
For this question, we can distinguish between evening delivery and daytime delivery: Evening Delivery: The Trunkrs vans do not have cooling systems, so the meat is packed in a box with insulation material and a scoop of dry ice. This ensures your order arrives well-frozen. Daytime Delivery: The Chill Bill vans are equipped with freezer cooling, keeping your order properly frozen. They also regularly conduct quality checks on the temperature.
Absolutely! Changing your delivery address is quick and easy—perfect if you want to surprise someone with a gift. Enter the delivery details during checkout and uncheck the box labeled 'My delivery address and billing address are the same.' A field for the 'billing address' will now appear, where you can enter your own details.

Pickup

Your order will be ready for pickup on the agreed day after 12 PM at our warehouse in Meppel. The address of The Butchery is: Badweg 4, 7944 HJ, Meppel
Pickup orders are prepared daily around 11 AM. Your order will be ready for pickup after 12 PM at our warehouse. Prefer to pick it up earlier? Please contact us via email or phone, and we’ll make sure your order is ready sooner.

Payment

You can enter the gift card code during checkout. Below the summary of your order, you'll see 'coupon code.' Here, you can input your gift card code, and the amount will be deducted from your total.
You can enter your discount code during checkout. Under 'payment methods,' you'll find the option 'discount code or gift card.' Enter your discount code here, and the discount will be automatically applied to your shopping cart.

Buying meat online

Products that are out of stock are not displayed on our webshop. Would you like to order the product from us soon? All the meat you purchase from us is labeled with an expiration date under frozen conditions. The meat we deliver can be stored in the freezer for at least a few months. If you choose to store the meat in the refrigerator, it will keep for a maximum of 5 days (provided the vacuum seal remains intact).
Buying meat online with us is completely safe. As soon as the shipment arrives, our experienced butchers portion the meat, vacuum seal it, label it, and freeze it immediately under special conditions. This ensures the quality and nutritional value of the meat are preserved. The meat remains frozen until it reaches your door, and you can choose to store it in the fridge (limited shelf life) or in the freezer (see label for shelf life).
Of course, we work hygienically. We follow the guidelines of the HACCP hygiene code. In addition, we are inspected by the NVWA (Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority), which ensures we comply with the Food and Goods Act. They check whether we pay attention to food safety and whether we adhere to quality systems.
The breed you choose is entirely up to your personal taste. You can base your choice on the price, the marbling of the meat, or its origin. Meat is a natural product, so the item you receive may not look exactly like the one in the photo, but it will certainly be comparable. On the breed pages, you'll find information about the breed at the bottom of the product descriptions. You can also compare prices on the category pages found under 'daily' and 'BBQ.' The marbling can also be easily compared on those pages.

Defrosting meat

De beste manier om vlees te ontdooien is om het een dag of twee dagen van tevoren uit de vriezer te halen en in de koelkast te leggen. Zo kan het vlees rustig ontdooien. Haal het vlees (vooral bij steaks van toepassing) na ontdooien één tot twee uur van tevoren uit de koelkast en leg op het aanrecht om op kamertemperatuur te laten komen voor bereiding.

Preparing meat

On the product page, you'll find preparation advice for each cooking method. Additionally, various types of meat along with great recipes can be found on our recipe page (tip!).
We have two types of bags: one with black markings and one without. Both can generally withstand temperatures up to 70°C, but with the black bags, the ink may come off (although it is 100% food-safe). Temperatures above 70°C can cause the seal to loosen, so it’s not recommended to go beyond that.
