Sloppy Joe Lasagna
If there’s one dish that always works for both young and old, it’s lasagna. Robert from @vurigekolen made this Sloppy Joe version and trust us: you’ll want to try this one! But first, a bit of context...
What is a Sloppy Joe?
A Sloppy Joe is a classic American sandwich with seasoned ground meat simmered in a sweet and savory tomato sauce. The meat is “sloppy” because it doesn’t hold together like a burger, but instead forms a loose, juicy filling.
Robert previously made a cheesy sloppy joe and now a lasagna version. Let’s go!
Preparation method sloppy Joe lasagna
Heat some oil in a pan and gently sauté the onion and garlic until soft and translucent. Add the bell pepper and cook briefly until it starts to soften. Add the ground beef and cook until browned and crumbly. Stir in the ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, smoked paprika powder and chili powder, then let everything simmer gently so the sauce can thicken.
Season with salt and pepper. If the sauce becomes too thick, you can add a small splash of water. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Spoon a thin layer of Sloppy Joe sauce into an oven dish, place fresh lasagna sheets on top and spread a generous layer of sauce over them. Continue building the lasagna and always finish with a layer of sauce on top.
Place slices of cheddar over the top layer and tear the mozzarella into pieces to distribute in between. Put the dish in the oven until the lasagna sheets are cooked and the cheese is melted and lightly golden. Allow about 25 minutes!

So easy a child could do it.
ENJOY!
