Stuffed turkey: a beautiful tradition
Thanksgiving, Christmas dinner or another special occasion: a stuffed turkey on the table is a festive occasion and a wonderful tradition. After all, it symbolizes togetherness. You can of course go all out and make a turkey yourself, but buying a stuffed turkey ready-made is just as easy. And tasty. Our turkey comes from France, a slow-growing breed with bronze-colored feathers. The turkeys have had a good life and that is not only good for the animal, but also benefits the quality of the meat. So win-win.
The filling consists of 50% veal, 50% pork and apricots. Both the filling and the herbs are completely ALLERGEN-FREE (except for the included vegetables (contains celery). You can also leave these out.
Turkey that cannot fail
This turkey really can't go wrong. Our butchers removed the carcass and the rustic turkey was then stuffed with love by our own Master Sausage Maker Henri van Heerde who runs our sausage making facility. You receive the turkey as a kit and it comes with a roasting bag and core thermometer. After 3 steps, all you really have to do is slide it into the oven or big green egg. A turkey that always works. It is not without reason that our stuffed turkey is now locally famous in Meppel and the surrounding area. Around Christmas time, turkeys cannot be found in our stores (Slagerij Lantinga). Last Christmas, the turkey was also widely reported in various newspapers as 'the turkey that cannot fail'. And that's exactly how it is. Buy stuffed turkey online
Buying a complete stuffed turkey online is no longer strange these days! Craft online, so to speak. You will receive the quick-frozen turkey (while retaining its structure, taste and nutritional values) at home, so please take this into account when planning. It will need at least three days to thaw. We deliver on Monday to Friday between 5:00 PM and 10:00 PM. Evening delivery. You choose your own delivery day, so it doesn't get much easier!
How to Stuff a Turkey?
The beauty of our famous turkey. You can just pop it into the oven! We've even removed the carcass, making the meat easy to divide. The Christmas turkey is completely allergen-free and filled with veal and pork ground meat, apricots, and a secret blend of herbs. The stuffed turkey comes with garnish, a roasting bag, and a thermometer.
Size of the Tray and Turkey
The tray that the turkey is in measures 26 by 32 cm. The height of the turkey (without the bulge of the roasting bag) is 17 cm.
How to Prepare Our Stuffed Turkey?
> Take the stuffed turkey out of the freezer 3 days in advance and thaw it in the refrigerator (leave the vacuum bag on during thawing). Running out of time? Then thaw it 1.5 days outside the refrigerator.
> Let the turkey reach room temperature for at least 6 hours before use (still with the vacuum bag)
> The turkey is delivered as a simple assembly kit.
- Remove the turkey from the vacuum bag and place it in the included aluminum tray. (or your own oven dish)
- Garnish with the included vegetables and bacon strips. Optionally, add pineapple, lardo, butter, apple, fruit cocktail, etc. We haven't included these as they may contain potential allergens.
- The turkey is tied up for even cooking, so leave it as is until it is fully cooked.
- Place the roasting bag around the tray and secure it with the included clip.
- If the roasting bag tears, there are extra roasting bags included. (there are two in the envelope)
> Preheat the oven to 180°C.
> Cook the turkey for 3 hours at 160°C in the oven.
> Insert the included meat thermometer after 2.5 hours between the legs and breast. Just pierce through the roasting bag
> After 3 hours, check if the achieved temperature of at least 70°C has been reached.
> Cut open the bag and set the oven to 200°C for 15 minutes for a nice brown crust.
> Remove the turkey from the oven and let it rest on the countertop under a kitchen towel or aluminum foil for half an hour.
