LIVAR sausage – Lime/Thyme

A sausage is always good, whether you fry it in a pan or put it on the barbecue. This LIVAR pork version is just that little bit different. The addition of lime and thyme gives the sausage a fresh flavor with a spicy undertone. You still get the familiar rich taste of quality meat, but with an extra layer that works surprisingly well. Delicious with mashed potatoes and vegetables, but also ideal on a sandwich or at the barbecue.

What is a bratwurst?

A bratwurst is nothing more and nothing less than ground meat seasoned with herbs and spices. It is one of the most versatile sausages available, because you can serve it with almost anything. It is traditionally fried in a pan, but it is just as suitable for the grill or barbecue. The addition of lime and thyme makes this version lighter and fresher, setting it apart from the regular bratwurst.

LIVAR – Limburg monastery pig

For this bratwurst, we use meat from the LIVAR pig, also known as the Limburg monastery pig. This unique pork concept is the only one in the Netherlands to carry the Animal Protection Agency's 3*** Better Life quality mark. The pigs are fed Limburg grains and are kept on small-scale farms, where great attention is paid to animal welfare. This results in meat with a characteristic flavor and a quality that you can immediately taste.
