Bratwurst Livar | Sun dried tomato parmigiano DOP

LIVAR sausage – sun-dried tomatoes/Parmigiano DOP
This sausage brings the taste of Italy to your plate. LIVAR meat forms the basis, complemented with pieces of sun-dried tomatoes and grated Parmigiano Reggiano DOP. During cooking, the flavors come together to create a sausage that is easy to serve with potatoes, pasta, or on the barbecue.
What is a bratwurst with sun-dried tomatoes and Parmigiano DOP?
A bratwurst is made by seasoning ground pork and stuffing it into a casing. Two classic Italian ingredients have been added to this variant. Sun-dried tomatoes add a slightly sweet note, while Parmigiano Reggiano DOP gives the sausage a full flavor that is not overpowering but nicely balanced with the meat. These additions give the bratwurst its own character and make it a nice change from the traditional version.
LIVAR
The meat comes from the Limburg monastery pig: LIVAR. This concept is the only Dutch pork producer to carry the 3*** Beter Leven quality mark from the Dutch Society for the Protection of Animals. The animals are given space, fed grains from the region, and raised in a natural environment. You can taste this in the quality of the meat, which is firm and full of flavor. LIVAR stands for craftsmanship and a provenance you can trust.
Want to order LIVAR bratwurst online?
You can easily order this bratwurst online at The Butchery. If you order before 11 a.m., your order will be delivered to your home in the Netherlands and Belgium the same evening. If that is not possible, you can choose another time that suits you better. The meat is flash-frozen and vacuum-packed, so that taste and quality are preserved during transport.
How do you cook a bratwurst?
A bratwurst is easy to prepare, browning it on all sides in a frying pan. Briefly poaching the sausage in water can prevent it from splitting, but that habit is somewhat old-fashioned. Naturally, turn a sausage with tongs rather than piercing it with a fork. Otherwise, the meat will lose its juices, which would be a shame. Bratwursts are also great on the BBQ or grill!
In brief
Grilling/BBQ: Around 8 minutes at 180 - 200 degrees or in a hot griddle pan [turn regularly]
Pan-frying: Gently fry for 10 minutes in oil, butter or ghee [turn regularly]
Sous vide: 1 hour at 65C, then finish on the grill
