Thick meat ribs LIVAR

Thick Meat Ribs Livar
Thick meat ribs from the Livar pig are bold, juicy, and packed with flavor. Also known as belly spareribs, they’re nothing like the standard ribs you might be used to. These robust ribs come with a generous amount of both meat and fat, making them perfect for fans of bold flavors and a hearty bite. Essentially, they’re pork belly strips with bones running through them, and that’s exactly what makes them so special. Ideal for a slow-cooked afternoon session, where the meat gently cooks until it’s falling off the bone.
What are thick meat ribs?
Meaty ribs come from the belly section of the pig, an area naturally rich in flavorful fat and dense meat. Because the meat is nestled between and on top of the bones, it develops a unique texture and deep flavor as it cooks. These ribs are perfect for low and slow preparation, whether on the BBQ or in the oven. The fat slowly melts away while the meat becomes meltingly tender and juicy. Brush them with a glaze or rub them with spices, and you’ve got a dish that’s both rustic and refined.
Limburg monastery pork
These thick meat ribs come from the Livar pig, better known as the Limburg monastery pig. The animals are lovingly cared for by monks at Lilbosch Abbey in Echt, where they are free to root in the soil and feast on fresh, locally grown Limburg grains. That good life translates directly into the quality of the meat. Livar is the only pork in the Netherlands awarded three stars by the Beter Leven animal welfare label. It’s honest meat with a story, and a flavor you won’t soon forget.
