What exactly is Christmas meat? It’s not just one special cut of meat, but during the festive season, when family gathers together, we like to go all out. Tradition plays a significant role here. At The Butchery, we absolutely love this season and have worked hard to put together a fantastic selection of Christmas meat.

Preparing for Christmas

At The Butchery, preparation for the December holiday season begins as early as late summer—and truthfully, we’re thinking about it all year long. Our Christmas meat selection is crafted with care and passion! In our store in Meppel, it’s always bustling during this time, and online orders for Christmas meat are just as popular. We recommend ordering early and, if you have freezer space, arranging for delivery a few days in advance. This way, you can defrost your meat at your leisure and ensure a perfect feast at the table. One thing is certain: with Christmas meat from The Butchery, you’re bringing home the very best. It truly elevates the at-home dining experience!

Christmas Meat from Our Own Butchery

All our meat comes from our own production and butchery. We operate from an established butcher shop: Culinaire Slagerij Lantinga. Here, we’ve brought all the specialists under one roof—grocers, bakers, pastry chefs, cheese experts—with meat as the shining star. Every piece of meat is trimmed and cut by hand by our own [Master] butchers. This means, for example, that our Japanese Wagyu A5 BMS12 is double-trimmed, so you won’t find unnecessary fat on this premium meat. While this may slightly increase the price per kilo, you’re assured of 100% value for money. If you’re going for the ultimate Wagyu experience, it should be done right!

The same care applies to all our products. Burgers are lovingly made in over 20 flavors in our own sausage kitchen, where Master Sausage Maker Henri van Heerde leads the way. The same goes for sausages, soups, and all the culinary creations we’re proud of.
