Of course, it’s a personal preference, but I tend to prefer slightly fattier cuts — so I find chicken thighs more flavorful than regular chicken breast. Naturally, it depends on what you’re planning to cook, but in my opinion, chicken thighs work brilliantly in salads, curries, or even just as a simple standalone fillet.

What is chicken thigh fillet?

Chicken thigh fillet is a fillet cut from the upper part of the chicken leg. A tender piece of chicken meat that is becoming increasingly popular and for good reason. 

Chicken fillet versus chicken thigh fillet

Chicken is perhaps the most eaten meat in the Netherlands and chicken fillet is at the top. Not surprising, because it is lean, tasty and you can go in any direction with it. Chicken fillet comes from the breast of the animal and is a double fillet. One chicken fillet as you know it from the supermarket or from the butcher is actually half. Chicken thigh fillet is gaining more and more ground and we completely understand that. The meat comes from the upper part of the leg and contains more fat than chicken fillet. It is also a bit darker in color. Chicken thigh fillet is undeniably more tender than chicken fillet and also contains more flavor. The meat is therefore also fattier. Both very tasty. Just depends on what you plan to do with it!
