We all know that chicken is perhaps the most consumed meat in the Netherlands. Understandably so, as it’s lean, versatile, and fits into any cuisine. Many people opt for chicken fillets and drumsticks, while whole chickens are often reserved for special occasions. A shame, really, since they require very little effort. Pop it in the oven or even an air fryer these days, and you can focus on the rest of your meal. At home, for example, we regularly have salads with chicken, and I personally find the meat from a drumstick to be especially tender and flavorful. At least once a month, we make chicken soup, and let’s be honest, it’s absolutely the best when made with freshly prepared chicken stock.
