Iberico sausage with chives/pine nuts

Sausage remains a classic, but this version is just that little bit more special. Made from Iberico pork and flavored with chives and pine nuts. This gives the sausage a slight spiciness and a little extra bite. You don't have to do much yourself: gently fry it in a pan or grill it on the barbecue and you're done. Delicious with potatoes and vegetables, but also on a bun with some sauce.

What is a bratwurst?

A bratwurst is a sausage made from ground meat and herbs that is easy to prepare. Just fry or grill it on both sides and it's ready. The difference here is in the Iberico meat and the addition of chives and pine nuts, which makes the flavor just a little richer. This gives you something that feels familiar, but tastes different from the standard bratwurst.

Iberico – Spanish pork

The meat comes from Iberico pigs from Spain. These animals roam the dehesa, an area with many oak trees, where they eat grass, herbs, and acorns. This diet produces meat that is known for its nutty flavor and beautiful fat structure. Iberico is considered one of the best breeds of pork in the world, and you can taste that in this bratwurst.

Hoe bak je een braadworst?

Een braadworst is eenvoudig te bereiden, om en om in een braadpan. Even wellen in water kan voorkomen dat de saucijs knapt, maar die gewoonte lijkt een soort van ouderwets. Uiteraard draai je een saucijs met een tang en niet door er met een vork in te prikken. Dan verliest het vlees zijn vocht en dat is zonde. Braadworstjes doen het natuurlijk ook super op de BBQ of gril!

Bakken: 10 minuten zacht braden in olie, roomboter of ghee [tussendoor omdraaien]
