What is a schnitzel?

A natural schnitzel is a flattened piece of meat, from fricandeau or pork ham. Schnitzel is always cut along the grain, so that the meat does not warp during preparation. A tasty, accessible piece of meat that is always good. A popular dis for good reason! All the way from Livar!

Limburg Monastery Pig

LIVAR is the only pork concept to have been awarded 3* better life by the Animal Protection Society and that is of course not without reason. The origin of brightly colored LIVAR pigs lies at Lilbosch Abbey in Echt, Limburg. There, the animals are lovingly cared for by monks and the pigs can root and roll in the mud in the monastery gardens and are fed freshly grown Limburg grains. You can taste that good life.
Livar pigs no longer roam around at Lilbosch Abbey, but they do all grow up under strict supervision and LIVAR is constantly working to make its farms even more animal-friendly. Taste as a reward for good care is the slogan and we dare to say with certainty that no word of that is a lie.

Hoe bak je schnitzel? 

Een naturel schnitzel moet je voor het mooiste resultaat altijd even door de bloem wentelen voordat je 'm gaat bakken. Een schnitzel hoeft niet zo lang in de pan, omdat het een mooi dun stuk vlees is. Bak de schnitzel in een ruime hoeveelheid boter ongeveer 4 tot 8 minuten om en om.
