Chicken heart is perhaps one of the most underrated types of meat in the Netherlands, often fed to animals. However, at Brazilian BBQs, it's a different story—here, chicken heart is one of the most popular dishes on the barbecue.
Despite being an organ, chicken heart doesn't taste like typical organ meat. The heart is a muscle, which means the meat has a firm bite. It's also definitely not dry; chicken hearts are deliciously juicy.
Preparing chicken hearts doesn't have to be difficult. You can stew them, grill them briefly, or even fry them.
Pound or mash garlic, salt, and chili flakes. Mix the spices with 2 tablespoons of olive oil to create a marinade and marinate the chicken hearts with it. Thread the hearts onto skewers and let them rest for 30 minutes. Then, grill the hearts for 5 minutes on all sides.
